چکیده
The construction industry is growing fast alongside the growth of economy and population. As one major building materials, brick in high demand for purposes. continuous will eventually lead to a shortage raw materials long run, such as sand Ordinary Portland cement. This issue could be resolved by utilizing waste Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) beads Silica Fume (SF), replacement cement production bricks, respectively. In this study, 120 specimens were produced with EPS removed 10% 15% while SF 20% cement-to-sand ratio water-to-cement 1:2.5 0.5 performance bricks was analyzed aspect compressive strength, density, water absorption, strength weight (s-w ratio). found reduce strengthen mix thus compensating loss caused beads. For application, respectively, recommended, it achieved minimum requirement industry.

Effect of Partial Replacement of Cement by Silica Fume on Hardened Concrete
The use of Silica Fume (SF) in short period of time had one of the most dramatic impacts on the industry’s ability to routinely and commercially produce SF modified concrete of flowable in nature but yet remain cohesive, which in turn would develop both high early and high later-age strengths including resistant to aggressive environments. This paper features an experimental study on the nature...
متن کاملDevelopment of UHPC Mixtures Utilizing Natural and Industrial Waste Materials as Partial Replacements of Silica Fume and Sand
In the exploratory study presented in this paper, an attempt was made to develop different mixtures of ultrahigh performance concrete (UHPC) using various locally available natural and industrial waste materials as partial replacements of silica fume and sand. Materials such as natural pozzolana (NP), fly ash (FA), limestone powder (LSP), cement kiln dust (CKD), and pulverized steel slag (PSS),...
متن کاملExperimental Study on Mechanical Properties of M30 Concrete with Partial Replacement of Cement and Fine Aggregate with Silica Fume and Copper Slag
The present investigation revealed the effect of using silica fume and copper slag as a partial replacement of cement and fine aggregate, respectively on the mechanical properties of the concrete. Due to the depletion of natural sand resource worldwide with the increment of industrial waste, simultaneously, partial replacements of fine aggregate with copper slag have been attempted. Therefore, ...
متن کاملEfficiency of calcined kaolin and silica fume as cement replacement material for strength performance
The cementing efficiency factor k of a pozzolan is defined as the number of parts of cement in a concrete mixture that could be replaced by one part of pozzolan without changing the property being investigated, which is usually the compressive strength. This concept was proposed by Smith [1] and was initially applied in rational proportioning of fly ash concrete by using the ‘‘fly ash cementing...
متن کاملEffects of Sand and Silica Fume on the Vibration Damping Behavior of Cement
The addition of sand to cement paste was found to degrade the vibration damping ability, as shown by decreases in both loss tangent and storage modulus under flexure. However, further addition of silica fume more than restored the vibration damping ability, due to the silica fume causing increases in both loss tangent and storage modulus. Silica fume increased the loss modulus of mortar by as m...
